Episode 3 - "The Videogame Episode" - Out Now

Episode 3 is finally finished. I'm not sure if I was able to completely get the audio volume leveled out, so e-mail me if there are any problems.

This episode covers most of Bad Religion songs featured in videogames. I also do a feature on Greg Heston, and the webcam contreversy a few months ago.

Songs Featured In This Episode:
Hear It - Live in Gothenberg, 1999.
Big Bang - Live from We're Not The Damned, 1989.
You - Demo, recorded before the release of No Control.
Empty Causes - Live in London 1996.
10 in 2010 - Live At KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas, 2002.
Infected - Ripped From Guitar Hero, with ikillkenny on guitar.
Frogger - Live From Delerium of Disorder Bootleg.
No Direction - Live At Santa Monica, 1999.
I Love My Computer - Live At the Farmclub, 1999-ish.

Next Episode

Episode 3 will be coming out not this Wednesday but next Wednesday. From here on out, the Podcasts will usually be released on a biweekly (or in more Graffinesque terminology, fortnightly) basis. This will give me more time to get content into the episodes and more time for you guys to submit your comments.

I also think that I am having trouble with the feed for some locations. I know that the Podcast Alley feed doesn't seem to be updating, so I have to investigate that.

Remember, please send me comments on what your favorite Bad Religion song or songs are.

Episode 2 Out Now!

The second episode of the Bad Religion podcast is out now! You can find the direct link here. If you are subscribed and you're having problems with the feed make to sure to e-mail me. I worked harder on editting and producing this episode, so the volume should be more normalized (no more quiet talking and very loud music) and there are less talking screw ups. I realize that there are still a lot of issues with popping and microphone glitches, and I hope to get those fixed by next episode.

Episode Description:
Along The Way - Live From the Hell On Earth Bootleg circa 1984
Analysis of Along The Way
Pretenders - New America B-Side
News - Graffin's New Solo Project, The New Album
Part 3 - Live At Coney Island High 1997
History Section - Billy
Billy Gnosis - From Into the Unknown
Not So Bad Religion Banter - "Cheap Seats"
Delirium of Disorder - Cover By Stranded
Listener Responses About First Bad Religion Experience
Part 2 of Interview From Warped Tour circa 1999
Billy - Live In 1993
Epiphany - Live at the HOB Show in 2002

Too Hot For iTunes

Well, iTunes sent me a section rejection letter about the podcast. I guess they're not too keen on having bands on their Music Store on freely available podcasts. I'm going to try to get in contact with someone from the band to see if they would be willing to grant me official permission to do such a show, so that may resolve it.

In the mean time, you can still manually add the podcast to iTunes. It will act exactly like a normal podcast subscription, you just need to set up slightly differently:

Open up iTunes and then click on Podcasts in the left menu.
Go to Advanced in the menu bar and then click on Add Podcast Subscription.
Type: http://www.doc-ent.com/brp/britunespodcast.xml into the text box that comes up.
Hit OK.

You will now be subscribed to the podcast through iTunes.

In the meantime, I'll try to get the podcast on some other podcast listing sites soon.

Audio Issues

A few people have made some comments about the audio in the first show. I realize that the audio wasn't up to what it should be, and I'm working to address this problem in the next podcast (which will probably be on Wednesday). Things like my voice being much lower than the sound level for the songs and the background loop in the news being too loud will be fixed. I also will try to minimize the various reading screwups that were in this podcast.

Anyways, I'd like to thank everyone who took some time to comment on the podcast. Hopefully there will be many more listeners once I eventually get it up on iTunes (I don't think they liked the fact that I mentioned "Fuck Armagedon: This Is Hell" in the title).

Episode 1 Now Up!

I have finished Episode 1 of the Bad Religion Podcast. You can find the link here. You can subscribe to the RSS feed here and you can also subscribe soon on iTunes, Yahoo Podcasts and several other podcasting sites.

The first episode features the following songs:
Fuck Armagedeon: This Is Hell - Live At the Tuxedo Junction in 1996
Losing Generation - From the album Into the Unknown
Beyond Electric Dreams - Live In 2004
Runnin' Fast - Solo song by Greg Graffin
Tom Dooley - Solo song by Greg Graffin
Tested - Live at Coney Island High in 1997

The episode also features an Interview from the late 1990's when the band was on the Warped Tour before releasing The New America.

In addition, there is also a small section about the early solo career of Greg Graffin, although this will be expanded on in future episodes.

I also share my first experience with Bad Religion and I encourage anyone listening to share theirs. Simply post a comment to this post, or send an e-mail to brpodcast@gmail.com with an attached audio file (preferably MP3) and I will make sure to play it in the next episode.

The next episode will be out two weeks from today (Wednesday February 15th). However, expect some news posts on this site in the meantime.
